HR Generalist – Austin, TX

Our client, a Texas-based engineering firm, is seeking an HR Generalist for their office in Austin, to support the Austin and San Antonio markets. Strong employee relations, benefits, and recruting process knowledge required. Additional job responsibilities include:

  • Assists in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt employees, interns, and temporary workers
  • Conduct new hire and new employee orientations
  • Investigate employee relations issues; make recommendations that effectively resolve complaints; gather information and documentation to support appropriate solutions
  • May manage Leaves of Absence and FMLA administration
  • Prepare employee separation documentation and conduct exit interviews
  • Communicates benefit information to employees
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • May facilitate and/or provide training to the workforce
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records; creates and generates routine and ad hoc reports; and audits data as necessary to ensure accuracy
  • May maintain and coordinate employee recognition programs
  • Ensure effective communication and administration of company policies, procedures, programs, changes and related issues
  • Some travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

A minimum of 6 years of HR experience is required, including recruiting and benefits administration; civil engineering experience is strongly preferred. Solid MSO and technical skills will be needed and knowledge of UltiPro is a plus. Bachelors degree in a related field is preferred, along with PHR or SHRM-CP.
