Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Our client is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to manage the efficient administration of bi-weekly payroll. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including payroll processing, benefits management, and HR-related inquiries. As the first point of contact for payroll and benefits, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring all employees’ needs are met promptly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Exceptional Customer Service: Provide top-notch customer service by promptly addressing employee and manager inquiries related to pay, benefits, and HR concerns.
  2. Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for our workforce using ADP, including entering payroll changes, voluntary deductions, garnishments, and more.
  3. Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  4. Reporting: Prepare and distribute standard and customized payroll reports to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Data Management: Maintain employee data using ADP, overseeing pay increases, bonuses, commissions, and ensuring precise records of payroll transactions.
  6. Leave Management: Review, process, and reconcile time off requests and balances, including managing FMLA, PFML, STD, and LTD claims.
  7. Benefits Administration: Manage benefits eligibility, enrollment, and communicate with employees about available benefits. Coordinate with insurance vendors and brokers to resolve issues.
  8. Compliance: Conduct internal HR audits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Assist in the preparation of annual reports and filings, including 401(k) census, PCORI, ACA, and benefit surveys.
  9. Open Enrollment: Oversee and administer the annual open enrollment process, collaborating with external vendors and benefit brokers.
  10. Financial Oversight: Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accuracy.
  11. Professional Communication: Interact professionally with employees of all levels to address payroll, benefits, leave of absence requests, and HR policies and procedures.
  12. Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of strong ADP payroll processing experience, along with 1+ years of benefits experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, with an associate’s degree preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of ADP Payroll Processing, familiarity with Federal, State, and local HR laws, payroll regulations, garnishments, tax laws, and benefits distribution.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and strong mathematical and calculation skills.
  • Integrity: Demonstrated honesty and ethical behavior in line with company values.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively one-on-one and in groups.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, follow-through, and the ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address payroll and benefits-related challenges effectively.
  • Work Environment: This is a 100% in-office role.
