Payroll Specialist

We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our client’s team as a Payroll Specialist. As a vital member of their team, you will be responsible for a range of essential functions to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and audit payroll, timekeeping, and supplemental pay records to ensure compliance with established standards for each bi-weekly payroll cycle.
  • Process changes in pay, tax status, and other employee information accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in compiling and organizing data for external audit requests.
  • Complete employment verifications and respond to state employment verification requests promptly.
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, and other wage attachments within required deadlines.
  • Handle tax notices and conduct financial reconciliations.
  • Assist in generating payroll reports to verify data accuracy.
  • Support the production and distribution of sales commission workbooks.
  • Manage the mailing of live checks and process unclaimed checks effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll, wage withholding, and garnishments.
  • Certification in payroll processing preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent client interaction and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in English language (written and spoken); bilingualism is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
