Training & Development Specialist

Our South Houston client is seeking a highly motivated Training & Development Specialist to join their team who can take charge of developing training programs and initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging learning experiences that enhance the skills and knowledge of our client’s associates. You will also play a crucial role in managing merger and acquisition projects and ensuring that training deliverables are completed successfully.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative training ideas and concepts using various mediums such as user interfaces, graphics, illustrations, animations, and simulations for e-learning and classroom presentations.
  • Manage merger and acquisition projects, overseeing resources and ensuring deliverables are completed within scope and on schedule.
  • Assess and deliver training programs using suitable methods for internal and external audiences, aligned with project timelines, desired outcomes, and learner needs.
  • Lead and facilitate learning programs, including classroom and remote learning sessions for small and large groups.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive Learning and Development strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Continuously monitor instructional delivery best practices, evaluate learner assessments, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop presentations and materials for hands-on exercises and remote training sessions.
  • Analyze and implement lessons learned, measure the effectiveness of learning solutions, and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and content owners to ensure training programs meet the specific needs of the business.

Requirements:

  • A self-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and effectively.
  • Advanced project management skills with a proven track record of working efficiently within fixed deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills to engage and inspire learners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly adapt to other databases and systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development within the construction or industrial sector.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in learning and/or talent management.
